In the beginning we kept track: in five more days Chloe will have been in Spain for two months. Then it was, oh my gosh, in two days Chloe will have been gone for four months! Then, can you believe that I've been gone for seven months today? Now it's, how long has Chloe been gone? Um, let's see, today is, what? The fourth? So she's been gone, um, [counting on fingers] it was ten months, no, nine months, two days ago. If she hadn't left the day after her birthday (an easy number from which to calculate: 1) I would never remember the exact date she left.
I only remember the year we were married by subtracting 5 from the year AR was born. And I remember the year we bought our house by connecting it to the price we paid for it (the amount and the year are the same). Sometimes I panic 'cuz I think I've forgotten the trick that is connected to which date!

And if I wasn't born in an even decade, I'd have no idea how old I am.

P.S.
After rereading that I must tell you that as far as I know, I have not suffered a stroke!
